About
Youth Sport Omagh (YSO) is a cross community voluntary organisation that was established in 2001 to provide sport, physical activity opportunities and high-quality sporting facilities to people of all ages and abilities in Omagh and the surrounding areas. The organisation aims to bring people together, improve health and wellbeing, get people active and improve local relations through sport and physical activity.
YSO manages a multi-sport complex that includes multipurpose changing complex, 2 x grass pitches, 1 x 3G pitch and running track. The facility is a hub of multi-sport activity, hosting events and programmes delivered by YSO and bookings by various sporting and community groups for training and competitive games.
Our work
S3 Solutions has been working with Youth Sport Omagh since October 2013 and the organisation is currently a subscriber to our FundReady Support Package. Our support has evolved alongside the organisation’s development, initially focussing on small capital and revenue grants and building the profile of Youth Sport Omagh in the local area.
Youth Sport Omagh had a very clear strategic priority upon approaching S3 Solutions for support and that was securing funding for the upgrade of a synthetic grass surface to a modern 3G surface. Demand for this type of facility from sports and community organisations in the local area along with the potential to generate sustainable income were key reasons for pursuing this priority. Working in partnership with the Board of Directors over a number of years, £230,000 was successfully secured to complete the surface upgrade and a further £200,000 in small capital and revenue funding has been secured by the organisation with support from S3 Solutions.
